Artist Cards Release

For  the next First Friday Art Walk several Downtown Bloomington artists plan to release a series of Artist’s Cards priced between $DBAArtistCardEaton5 and $15. The event is from 5 pm to 8 pm on March 4th. The cards will feature original, signed art and will be available throughout the Downtown at participating studios and galleries as well as selected Downtown Bloomington businesses.
 An Artist Card also known as and ACEO (Artist Cards Editions and Originals) is a small card measuring 2 1/2 ” by 3 1/2 ” upon which the artists create a quick piece of artwork representative of their larger body of work.  Any type of surface can be used from paper to metal,  plexiglass, plastic, thin wood and any media can bDBAArtistCardwetzele used from charcoal to oil paint to fabric to photography and more.    Cards can be framed or place in album pages and stored in a binder. All cards are signed by artist.
Each artist will release only a limited number of cards for sale that evening.  Artists hope these cards will promote connoisseurship among the next
generatio n of collectors. For some  art patrons these cards are the first piece of original art they purchase and for others it is a chance to buy art from someone they admire but can’t afford a larger piece.
Over 40 artists are expected to participate in media from painting, printmaking, drawing, metal work, collage, glass and more.
